"RMGA" Tournament Benefits "PBMA"
Monday September 28th, The Regency Men's Golf
Association played the second annual RMGA Invitational at Haymarket, Virginia's Regency Golf Club at Dominion Valley.
It was a windy, almost overcast day on the Arnold Palmer designed
layout. More than 100 players completed in the top-notch event that
raised $7,500 for PBMA's children's vision screening program!
2009's
tournament was run by golf tournament veteran and long time Prevent
Blindness Mid-Atlantic friend John Kittelberger.
Most
tournaments to benefit the organization in the past have required
massive man-hours by PBMA staff, which has kept them from doing
their day to day jobs. This tournament did not require one minute
of staff time.
"You have no idea how much that means to us,"
explained Tim Gresham of Prevent Blindness Mid-Atlantic. "We have an
exceptionally small staff and John knows that. He picked us up and put
us on his shoulders one more time!"

"This is our first year as a fund raising
tournament. I am thrilled that we are able to help Prevent Blindness
continue to check the vision of our school children instead of
having to worry about running an event, which takes away from their
time in the field." Kittelberger explained.
Thanks to the
tournament's sponsors, the golfers and the RMGA for stepping up to help
Prevent Blindness Mid-Atlantic have the financial resources to continue
checking the vision of schoolchildren in the Mid-Atlantic region.
About 6,000 children have been directly effected by a Prevent
Blindness "sight save" within 50 miles of Haymarket.
"If
I could, please let me mention how much I appreciate what John
Kittelberger and the Tournament Committee did for us. Their new model
of golf tournament operation is a God-send for the kids Prevent
Blindness Mid-Atlantic serves. I would also like to thank Garneski
Heating & Air Conditioning, Western Hospitality Group, JB&A and
Kittelberger & Sons for their financial support of the tournament,"
added PBMA's President & CEO Tim Gresham
