» 50th Anniversary Celebration
A Night To Remember
|
Volunteers, donors and friends gathered at the historic
Jefferson Hotel in downtown Richmond Friday, October 19
to celebrate Prevent Blindness Mid-Atlantic's first 50
years of preventing needless blindness.
“We recognized staff and volunteers that have been so
gracious throughout our rich history,” said Tim Gresham,
President and CEO.
Former Board Chairman Dale Cannady, who recently retired
as President of SunTrust Bank was presented the Joseph E.
Nichols Award. The prestigious award was presented to Dale
by former Nichols award winner, John D. O’Neill, Jr.
managing partner at Hunton & Williams.

The award named for Prevent Blindness Mid-Atlantic
founder Joe Nichols was created to recognize longstanding,
volunteer leadership. The award has been made only three
times.
In addition to Cannady and O’Neill, retired General John P.
Henderson, Jr. was honored with the Nichols Award in 2005. See more of the sights of our 50th Anniversary Gala...
